My prototypical customer is going to be a man in the age range of 16-22 for my beginning segment, but eventually will come to include some older customers as well. For my beginning segment it will consist of young men looking to get into motorcycles for the first time. As for there jobs it will be lower income positions or no job at all. Ideally I will be looking to target college men. As for hobbies they will most likely be of the athletic type for instance being active at the gym and participating in sports. They currently most likely don’t have a vehicle or have a cheap car. As for shows they’re most likely into action or sports related shows like NFL, NHL etc…. No children. Probably not big readers or into politics. They are adrenaline seekers and penny pinchers they are looking for a deal.
I have a lot in common with this prototypical customer. When I got my first bike I say I fit almost every single one of those categories. This is definitely not a coincidence I came up with this company based on things I personally encountered when I got into motorcycles. So I am trying to fulfill a need I noticed.
Hey Richard, great post! My only wonder is why the age range of your prototypical customer is below 22, as even though the product is meant to entice young people to become regular riders, though many older people are already in the market you're trying to target. I would say that although you're putting forth a certain brand, you don't want to alienate potential customers.
