idea napkin 2
I grew up working in a mechanics shop for hot rods and then working on personal motorcycles and dirt bikes all through my childhood. So I am mechanically inclined. I think that by opening this business it can start as a way to enter the market, and finally build the company into a manufacturing company.
I think a good idea would be to have a rental station for scooters. Right now we have car rentals and motorcycle rentals, but we don’t have scooters, and being that we are in a town that thrives on scooters as transportation I think this could be a very affordable way for students to get around town if they don’t have the funds to buy a scooter.
My target market at first is going to be college towns that rely heavily on scooter transportation, so it would be a younger population at first in developed city areas. Eventually though it could be moved to target the city population as a whole.
Customers will pay me money because currently students either have to take a bus, which drastically adds time because you have to wait for the bus and then stop at every stop. Or you have to use uber, which can get very expensive very quickly. Your final option is getting a zip car which is very expensive in its self.
What sets this apart from other companies is that it will be very affordable. As well as being cheaper than a car it will also be a competitor to bicycles rentals in price, but you won’t have to pedal!
